Why is Starbucks in litigation with Workers United?

In early October, a statement about the conflict in the Middle East was posted on social media using our company name and logo. Because of this, the statements were then erroneously attributed to Starbucks instead of Workers United and its supporters/representatives.

The misattribution of these statements to Starbucks caused confusion, leading to threats to our partners, damage to our coffee shops, and calls for a boycott.

Starbucks has taken legal action to protect the safety of its partners and retail operations. Starbucks respects the right of others to express their own views on the conflict in the Middle East and other political and social issues. However, we cannot tolerate the misuse of our name and logo, especially when such misuse leads to the misattribution of foreign views to Starbucks.
